EU Pig Prices: Quotations Mostly Unchanged In Week 34

EU - In week 34, mostly unchanged quotations appeared on the European slaughter pig market as was the case in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Austria.
In Spain, the price fell by as many as three cents, in Great Britain by two cents. Yet, the quotation went up by three cents in France.
The Spanish price decrease is said to be a result of the margins being too low in meat sales as well as of the slaughter companies’ announcement to carry out less pig slaughters.
The French slaughter companies, on the contrary, are worrying to not be able to ensure supply, thus being ready to pay higher prices. The supply-and-demand situation is reported to remain mostly balanced in the Netherlands, so the quotation there remains unchanged.
